News station accused of sexism after weather presenter is forced to cover up live on air

Twitter users accused a news station of sexism after a female weather reporter was made to cover herself up with a cardigan mid-way through a live forecast.

In a video that was shared online, meteorologist Liberté Chan was seen carrying out a broadcast on station KTLA in a sleeveless black dress when a cardigan is brandished at her from off camera. Puzzled, she asks: “Why? Because it’s cold? I look like a librarian now."

But the male voice from behind the scenes at the Californian station explains: "We've been getting a lot of emails."xxx

Ms Chan looks slightly unimpressed with the situation but manages to style it out. She later explained on Twitter that she had changed into the black dress after an earlier outfit hadn't worked against the green screen in front of which weather reporters stand Twitter was alight with criticism after the incident, one user tweeted sarcastically: "She has the gall to show her shoulders on TV! In LA!!!
